Smoke in the Air
Heavy plumes of dark smoke tainted the otherwise spotless blue sky yesterday.
Upon closer inspection, they were caused by a small fire along Route 2. From what, I have no clue.
Hopefully there were no casualties.

Potluck Party – The Party Animals
My friend cares for 2 cats and 2 bunnies!!

Don’t be fooled by her stern look –
despite her heavy lids, she is such a sweet kitty. I love how she stretches her front legs to their fullest and tucks her head to get a good scratch.
Meet Bosa, a Lionhead rabbit. She always reminds me of a little buffalo.
And last but not least, Zaika, a.k.a. The Piglet because she will eat anything and everything! She was, in fact, begging for food the very moment I took this photo. Caught cutely in the act.
Rainy Day Parade
With the continuous barrage of rain over the past 3 (technically 5) days, one must be armed with an umbrella at all times.
“Umbrellas for sale!” joked one co-worker, as she spotted our cluttered end of the hall.
The sun will come out soon — tomorrow, perhaps.
Potluck Party – The Food
Over the weekend, my friend hosted a potluck at her place. Of course, I had to take photos of the food!
I brought homemade sushi.
One friend made 烤麩, the dish to the left. It is one of my favorite vegetarian dishes.
I was given 10/10 for plating aesthetics! :)
For dessert, our awesome hostess made delicious banana bread, which we enjoyed with freshly brewed coffee.
What a gastronomically satisfying evening! What more can you ask for, when there’s good food and great company?? Stay tuned for the adorable pet pics…
